College of Public Speaking Corporate Challenge 2009
The College of Public Speaking's second Corporate Challenge Grand Final 2009 was a fiercely contested event at St Mary-le-Bow Church, Cheapside on Monday 28th September.
Popular TV programmes like The Apprentice and The Dragons' Den underline the need for excellent communication skills. The College of Public Speaking's mission to find the UK's top business speakers was achieved.
Speaking on the theme of 'Recession, the light at the end of the tunnel...' an American from Brooklyn, Paul Carroll was adjudged winner by a panel of independent judges. Paul is a member of Toastmasters International. Runner-up was Simon Bucknall who is also a member of Toastmasters International and runs his own company, The Art of Connection. Third was last year's winner, Rod Sloane who runs his own business specialising in marketing small businesses. Rod is also a member of Toastmasters International and the Professional Speakers Association. The judges commended two other speakers, Mindy Gibbins-Klein and Alan McMahon.
