Needless to say the event was a great success with a gathering in excess of one hundred people. The audience were amused and amazed by a soire of spectacular speaking. Michael delivered three competition speeches and was word perfect throughout. Our guest speaker Paloma Vivanco delighted the audience with detailed insights of the perils of being involved in a high-profile reality TV program like the Apprentice. The venue at the Institute of Strategic Studies has a wonderful auditorium, capacious and yet intimate, and with fantastic acoustics. "One of the greatest speaking events I have ever attended," Paresh Rughani. |

Hints on creating a Winning Speech, from a Winning Speaker
What makes a great speech?
- Planning
- Preparation
- Delivery
Elements including:
- Finding and refining the right subject
- Fostering spontaneity and originality in a well-trodden landscape
- Creating an integrated 3 dimensional structure (ideas, balance and content)
By focusing on speeches that have victoriously come through the furnace of competition Michael will demonstrate and analyse both content and structure, giving his own unique perspective on what is required to create a winning speech with impact, relevance and rapport.
Plus...
Test the sound of your own voice in a beautiful, unique and prestigious setting! The evening is structured to give members of the audience the opportunity to take to the floor themselves (should they wish) in 2 scheduled impromptu speaking sessions.
Set in the glorious surroundings of the Virginia Woolf room in Bloomsbury House it is a wonderful environment to practise one's speaking skills.

Institute of Strategic Studies Bloomsbury House, 2-3 Bloomsbury Square, London WC1A 2RL
Bloomsbury House is a listed building built originally to house the College of Preceptors. The impressive Grade I building was listed in 1976 and was sympathetically restored in 2007. The interior was transformed in to one of London's best kept secrets. The rather grand building was erected in 1887, designed in a sort of Flemish Renaissance style by one F. Pinches. You are assured of a quality event at this venue.

This marvelous venue is a two minute walk from Holborn station and overlooks Bloomsbury Square. Exit Holborn station and cross the main road on the right which is High Holborn. Then immediately cross the road which is Southampton Row and turn right. Turn left up Scicilian Avenue and walk to the end which meets Bloomsbury Square. Turn left and then cross Southampton Place. Bloomsbury House is the second on the left and has a large white stone-faced facade with terracota trimming. It also has a distinctive arched doorway which is easily seen from Bloomsbury Square (pictured from the gardens) itself.
