Persuasion and influencing skills London

Persuasion and influencing skills London
If you are a leader or a manager then you need incredibly strong powers of persuasion. Although you're the boss, issuing emails and directives does not necessarily make people do what you want them to do. Your staff need to be persuaded otherwise they will continue ploughing down their current furrow. Staff like to be influenced in such a way as still leaves them in control.

When trying to persuade somebody, email is the worst medium through which to communicate, especially when dealing with contentious issues. You can guarantee that the message sent will not be the message received. The printed word allows little scope for emotion or rapport (that magical personal connection) with the recipient of the message.

That's where the speaking opportunity has such a powerful advantage over the printed word. The human voice is such an expressive tool with which to convey compelling messages.

Could you imagine if the US race for the White House was conducted by email? It would be rather dull. The electorate requires great speaking skills, they expect to see and feel real emotion. They demand a sense of connection with their leaders.

The art of persuasion is not lost. Our work with the BT Elite Talent Pool has given some of the brightest people in industry the tools to positively influence their managers and customers.

Do you need more budget to get your projects off the ground? Do you need more trained staff to deliver better services? Do you have to make some tough decisions and announce them to the workforce? After discussing these issue with the College of Public Speaking you will be able to generate a series of alternative options. Options and flexibility are a form of power in themselves.

In a world where persuasion is an increasingly important part of what governments, organisations and individuals have to do, you will find our insights into the psychology of persuasion incredibly effective.
