Playhouse Theatre in London's West End
![]() |
Would you like to stand on an historic stage in London's West End and express yourself? After all, it is the privilege of the few. That said the College of Public Speaking can make your dreams come true. |
By special arrangement with the Playhouse Theatre, the College of Public Speaking has secured an arrangement which can offer you the experience of a lifetime.
You will work on the same stage where George Bernard Shaw made his stage debut in 1894 which is the same stage as where Sir Alec Guinness made his stage debut some forty years later.

The stage has hosted live concerts by the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd. The Playhouse Theatre was taken over by the BBC in 1951 and became the venue for the live radio recordings of Hancock's Half Hour, Steptoe and Son and the Goon Show. More recently, the theatre has been honoured by the presence of Julie Walters, Simon Ward, Martin Jarvis, Felicity Kendall and Tim Pigott-Smith. |

Last year as a 50th birthday present, my wife bought me a day's racing tuition at Brands Hatch. It was something I had always wanted to do, but I never thought I would. It was an unforgetable day which will be treasured for my lifetime, at least.

Weekend courses are a popular choice for busy executives who do not have time in their weekday schedule, and also for smaller business owners looking to make the most of a weekend opportunity for self-development.
Our regular presentation skills courses begin at 09:30 prompt and end between 16:30 and 17:00, with an hour for lunch (lunch included). The course is intensive and leads you through the minefield of effective communication.
These workshops fill quickly, so ring early to avoid disappointment.

These popular 1 day presentation skills workshops are ideal for delegates
looking to build their knowledge and insights into
the world of communication. There are many barriers
to effective communication and through relevant,
entertaining and interactive exercises, we expose
and underline them.
Our experienced instructors lead the facilitation and skills transfer by applying tried and trusted feedback techniques which are accurate and supportive of the delegate who may well be suffering from a serious bout of nerves.
Throughout the day, the self-esteem and self-confidence of the delegates is built incrementally so that by the end of the workshop, the newly found skills and self-confidence will resonate in all aspects of their business and personal lives.
One of the derivative benefits of our workshops is that our method of individual and group feedback builds empathy and support within the group which extends and endures far beyond the classroom. All companies require a mixture of individual, team and departmental commitment and our supportive feedback methodology provides a framework for lasting team spirit. This is an invaluable benefit to your organisation.
- The College of Public Speaking donates a percentage of its profits to the Speakers Trust, a charity dedicated
to the development of effective communication throughout all strands of society.
