Deborah has spent 15 years in the field of personal and professional development - working both clinically and in business. She is currently the owner of a leadership development training company; her roles include coaching, training and acting as a facilitator. Deborah is also finishing her first book on storytelling for leaders. Through her role as a facilitator and trainer, Deborah frequently speaks to groups of people and highlights that she would like to become a professional inspirational speaker in time.
Deborah describes herself as a "lover of life and of its diverse inhabitants. I believe we're here to learn throughout our life and the challenges help us grow a little wiser. My job is to share what wisdom I've picked up and enable people to access their own."
Deborah explains that it is an honour to be a finalist and that it reinforces her sense that her calling in life is as a communicator who seeks to share ideas for inspiration.
We asked Deborah what tactics she has for winning, she explains "I can't do anything about the speaking abilities of my competitors not of the judges preferences so my only tactic is to do my very best. After a near miss in the heats, I've completely rewritten my speech subverting the theme and telling a more focused story. I'm much happier with this speech and I hope the judges like it too!"
