Observing good speakers is a useful way to create greater knowledge and understanding of the public speaking skill set. I'm not suggesting that we plagiarise people's speeches or copy what they do in any shape or form, but if you observe a particular speaking attribute that you enjoy and you believe that it's a good fit for you and your personality, why not try it? If it works - great, you have a new attribute. If it doesn't work, you've lost ten minutes. So long as we're always looking for opportunities to improve, then we always have new hills to climb and joys to experience. Have an open mind to everything about it - it's wonderful when you can surprise yourself.
