How to tackle the curse of anxiety from a philosophical perspective

Let's start with the definition of fear. Fear is a real physical threat to your life or body. It could inflict serious pain or death.

The definition of anxiety is that it's a perceived lack of control over outcomes. Anxiety is always thought-generated. It is a prison of our own design.

Damage to the ego involving a loss of position in your dominance/social hierarchies. Damage to self-esteem.

How best to manage it? Be courageous - be defined by your courage, not the thought-induced trap of anxiety.

Be resilient - bounce back, all humans experience anxiety and we learn and grow and develop and we transcend ourselves.

We become more than who we are each day.

There are no guarantees in life, we have to fight for everything that has value. Nobody is giving anything away. Not playing to win isn't showing up at all. You have to be in it to win it.

We have to be prepared to play a good game and accept that we might lose in the end. That really is life. But when you win and you become good at winning, you want to learn how to do it consistently.

It's all driven by adrenaline, a hormone designed to protect you. You can submit to adrenaline or you can see at as the fuel for success. Whatever you decide is the truth.

We have to make a choice. What type of person do we want to be? What type of speaker will that make us? How will people perceive you when you exit anxiety?

What will that give you that you don't have now? Everybody who has mastered anxiety made a choice not to be its servant. We all have the same DNA. Make the right choice and be the person that you plan to be.

There are millions of people who have achieved this. We can all be one of them.
